Cinnabon Copycat Cinnamon Rolls
These are SERIOUSLY just like the ones at the mall. You know how with other cinnamon rolls, you tend to just eat the middle (i.e. the best part)? With these...the whole THING is like that. My kids actually think these are better than the mall ones. You can decide. ROLLS 1 Tablespoon active dry yeast1 cup warm milk (105 to 110 degrees F)1/2 cup sugar1/3 cup butter, melted 1 teaspoon salt2 eggs4 cups flour FILLING 1 cup packed brown sugar 2 1/2 Tablespoons … [Read more...]
150 Uses for the Top 10 Essential Oils
When I purchased this Home Essentials Starter Kit back in January 2016, I had never tried essential oils before...I was very skeptical they would even work. But I trusted the person who encouraged me to try them. I look back now and am AMAZED at the differences our family has seen in our overall health. Having a background in Nursing, and a husband who is a Pediatric Gastroenterologist at Phoenix Children's Hospital...we were both blown away that we had been in the dark for so long about … [Read more...]
The last letter of my mission…my testimony.❤️ It all comes down to this…
Well. The moment has arrived. This is my final letter as Elder Bryan McOmber to all of you. That is the scariest darn thing I have ever seen. I think I just got high blood pressure. Anyways. I've been thinking all week about what I wanted to say in my last letter. And above all, I want to share my testimony of the Savior. Some of you might choose this moment to simply skim over what I'm about to say; that is your decision, and I can't blame you; I've often done the same thing. But I … [Read more...]
McOmber Family Favorite Strawberry Ice Cream
My son Colton had a birthday awhile back. For birthdays at our house, you get to pick all the meals for the day. Colton asked me for "that amazing strawberry ice cream you made awhile ago!" Ok. Well, you have to understand that I have over 200 cookbooks. And I cook out of all of them. I don't do a lot of repeat recipes. When we DO decide to come back to something, sometimes I can't remember which book it was in. I know, I know. There are many ways to keep track of your favorite recipes. But I … [Read more...]
Only 1 week left (I’m in denial 😜). Looking back. Why does He who could fix it all, allow us to go thru trials?
Hey everyone! :) Well. This is not my last email home. That will be next Monday. And that is super weird to think about, so I'm just not going to think about it, despite all of ya'll's best efforts to make me think about it. :P This week was fun. Between a few exchanges and some rather hot weather, I've been kind of stressed for most of the week. The other day I was looking back on those days when I was in the MTC in Utah, and how I felt as I looked forward to the next two years. I … [Read more...]
Accepting ALL callings from the Lord. The Lord qualifies who he calls…trust Him! ❤️
Hey everybody! :) This week has been cool. I went on exchanges with another elder who is currently serving in a Spanish-speaking area, so I got to teach a little bit in Spanish, which was cool! I realized that I know more Spanish than I thought I did... and that I still have a LOT to learn. :) I am honestly a bit at a loss as to what happened this week... there were a couple crazy days in which we were all over the place and I was a bit distracted by everything that was going on. Seems … [Read more...]
I thought this was a haircut?😳 When giving reproof, are we motivated by love & do we show an increase of love?❤️
Hey everybody! :) It's funny how the longer I've been on my mission, the less I seem to remember about each consecutive day/week. :P So if I seem to have somewhat little to say... I promise it's not my fault. I do have a funny story though. So last P-day, we were planning on getting haircuts. We were finishing emails when the other elders walked into the computer room. They needed to get across town to sign some papers from a doctor's visit, and we had plenty of time, so we decided to be … [Read more...]
Am I doing enough? Why focus on tempests & storms when so many days are filled with blue skies & sunshine? Men are that they might have joy!
Hi guys! It has been an awesome week. We had lots and lots of meetings, so I was getting a little bit antsy by the end of the week, but the meetings were all wonderful, so it's alright. My favorite was our zone conference on Wednesday, in which I gave my last testimony in a zone conference (a tradition in our mission, not sure if it's worldwide). I never thought that moment would come; it terrified me. :P But we learned so much in that zone conference, especially about how important the Book … [Read more...]
Got to talk to my family!🎉 One month to go! Stepping aside to allow others to learn.❤️
Hey everybody! :) So, I got to talk with my wonderful family yesterday. Which was just the best. It was funny as well because I realized that if I forgot anything, I guess I can just talk to them about it in like... a month. XD Super weird to think about it. Anyways, we had a great time. I have the best family in the world. I honestly am not sure what to write in this letter. I pretty much told my family everything they wanted to know, and I didn't get the chance to think too much about … [Read more...]
Hi Mom! Last transfer day. Tribute to mothers.❤️ Pics!
Happy 90th birthday to my dad everyone! ;) Just kidding. He's not quite 90 yet. But I always thought it was funny how his birthday falls around the same time as Mother's day every year. It reminds me of a comment he would mention to me that he had heard from some comedian sometime, that a father teaches his son how to throw and catch a football. He spends hours outside practicing with him. He buys him cleats and pads and a helmet. He pays to put him on the club teams and the school teams. He … [Read more...]
Not being perfect. When missionaries give haircuts. Gratitude for my Savior.
Hey everybody! :) So... for starters, I suppose I should apologize. I have taken like no photos these past few weeks. It's rather difficult since there's so many people around that there never really seems to be time to stop and take a photo, and we're always either talking to someone or rushing to an appointment. But... I will be better. Thank you for your reminders. ;) We had an awesome meeting with Elder Bennett from the quorum of the Seventy this week. He basically spent the majority … [Read more...]
The greater the opposition, the greater the miracle. The joy of watching someone “get it”. The Lord is my light…he lives!
Hey guys! :) For those of you who know what My Plan is, it just showed up on my online missionary portal. Does that scare me to death? Absolutely. For those of you who don't know what My Plan is, it is an online course that missionaries take in the last six weeks of their mission to prevent us from getting home and having a panic attack, moving to the Himalayas and living there as hermits for the rest of our lives. I'm not sure it's going to work for me. :P This week was interesting. … [Read more...]
70 Degrees!!!☀️ #PrinceofPeace. Remembering the true Peacegiver this Easter.
Hey ya'll! :) IT IS A BEAUTIFUL DAY. The sun is shining, the tank is clean.... But seriously, it`s a great day. It`s like 70 degrees Fahrenheit outside (I have started thinking more in Celsius so that conversion was difficult for me) and I have been walking outside without a coat or sweater on for the first time since like August. It`s wonderful. Canadian spring is really something. Well, we have had a kind of crazy week. We had lots of meetings and then some exchanges, and our … [Read more...]
The Prodigal Son…how often do I let others repent? My new comp…multitasking. Pics!
Hi guys!! :) Wasn`t General Conference just the BEST?!?! I LOVED IT!!! :) I went in with my questions and I got multiple answers to each question! It was wonderful! There was one talk in which the speaker's opening line was almost word for word what I had been most worried about for the past several months! It was so great! My testimony of the Lord's modern day prophets and apostles was strengthened, and I am so grateful that we can go back and rewatch/reread the talks that were given! … [Read more...]
