I really couldn't do the sky justice tonight with a picture, but this was my attempt with my phone. I know I've said it before, but Arizona has the most beautiful sunsets in the world - every. single. night. I am blown away by how vivid and gorgeous they are - how quickly they change. Love them so much! Kyle's pack meeting this month was a bike rodeo. The cub scouts had a blast learning how to fix their bikes, learning how to stay safe, and using this jump... Way … [Read more...]
Happenings from NOVEMBER
The highlight for me this month was the beautiful music in our home being played on this! I have always wanted a grand piano and was SO BEYOND EXCITED about this one. My favorite part is that my kids can record themselves playing a piece, so that the piano can play it back for me when they aren't even here! That means when Bryan leaves on his mission, I don't have to miss hearing him play - I can pretend like he's just sitting in there on the piano playing for me, like I've … [Read more...]
September and October fun stuff!
Morgan had her Young Women in Excellence program this month, and it was so well done! This comes as no surprise, since the leaders in our ward are so amazing, as are these beautiful girls (inside and out)! We love Morgan and are so EXTREMELY proud of her and the young woman she is becoming! Even more so, we know her Father in Heaven is so proud of her and loves her beyond anything we mortals are capable of understanding. Thank you Morgan for being such a great example to … [Read more...]
July Fun!
Our fun purchase this summer was an Hawaiian Shaved Ice Machine! The piece on the front is something Mark and Bryan rigged up to keep the block of ice from flying out onto someone's toes if the ice breaks (which it does frequently). It's just a piece of a plastic bucket. We bought a bunch of Torani syrups, and that machine will sit on our counter all summer until the Phoenix heat subsides. Our kid's friends love it (and so do we!)! Morgan asked me to take her and her … [Read more...]

For our reunion for my side of the family this summer we met up at Disneyland! One of my favorite places in the world!! Although not everyone was able to make it (including my husband, who we missed dearly!), we had a pretty good showing. It was SO FUN to meet up with my brother and his family who we hadn't seen a couple of years. Their newest little girl was a year old and we hadn't met her yet! Colton and Kyle LOVED hang in' out with their two oldest boy, McKay and … [Read more...]
June happenings
We started the summer out with Kyle going to Cub Scout Day Camp. The boys always LOVE this. The heat is INTENSE here in Phoenix, but each station you stop at, they literally SOAK you. They keep you wet all day so you won't get hot. The favorite part of day camp is always the BB Guns and Archery. They also have a pool there, so the swimming is a blast too. There are lots of games, and they boys pass off a TON of stuff. I got this shot of Kyle … [Read more...]
Fun stuff in May
This month I got to chaperone Kyle's class on their field trim to the Musical Instrument Museum. This place was HUGE and had every instrument from all over the world - thousands of instruments. Really neat! Before the Phoenix summer set in full bore, we decided to hit the zoo, just me, Colton, and Kyle (Morgan and Bryan are not as into the zoo anymore as they used to be when they were younger - which is fine because it gave me more individual time with these … [Read more...]
KYLE is NINE!!
On Kyle's birthday, I surprised him and his class at school with ice cream sandwiches to celebrate! Can you tell he's excited? That night we let him invite a couple of friends over to celebrate with us at our family party. I asked Kyle the day before what he wanted on his cake. His answer? Oreos, gummy bears, and sprinkles of course! I bought the candles that keep relighting themselves. It was SO FUNNY! You can see Kyle's expression change in … [Read more...]
Fun things from April…
Kyle ADORES holding Carter (Sarah's baby)! Colton and Bryan do too! Bryan will hold him until he goes to sleep, snapping pictures with his phone, posting them to Facebook, and enjoying how all the girls swoon over this cute teenage boy who loves babies! Carter gets LOTS of attention at our house... These girls crack me up. They dressed up and performed one of their favorite radio songs - with singing and actions. It was too cute! I love Morgan and her … [Read more...]
other March happenings
I went to pickup Kyle from a playdate with one of his friends in our ward, and as I drove up I saw two kids driving this as fast as they could across the property... Yep, it was MY SON at the wheel! Crazy kid! He never had so much fun though! They were taking turns and having a blast. It'll be hard to convince him he has to wait until he's 16 to take the wheel of our cars - tough luck though buddy! Here Kyle is at his March Cub Scout Pack Meeting... Morgan tried … [Read more...]
My mom’s birthday!

Cub Scout Day Camp 2013
As a counselor in the Stake Primary Presidency, I was put in charge of the Cub Scout Day Camp this year. It was a tall order that I never could have done without the major help of the rest of our Presidency. They are some talented women I'm telling ya! They had the vision to see the possibilities and then to make those dreams a reality. Our theme was "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles". Along with all the regular classes being offered, which allowed those boys to … [Read more...]
Kyle and his “fort”
I remember building endless "forts" as a kid, and my kids are no different. Here was Kyle's latest that he built in our living room. He asked if he could sleep in it that night. I said yes of course! … [Read more...]
Sports! Sports! Sports!
My boys have been working hard and playing hard! Colton played basketball this season...As the score board shows, the last minute of this game was a nail-biter! But we won!! Bryan played with a recreational soccer team after his school soccer season ended... Kyle played basketball. He's always a fun one to photograph because he really gets intense when he's playing! love the tongue sticking out of the side of his mouth when he's concentrating too. … [Read more...]
ScOuTiNg FuN!
February started with our ward's Pinewood Derby...always a favorite for the kids. Depending on the parent, this can be a lot of work. In our family, we really do let our scout do most of the work. Kyle drew his design on the block of wood, I cut it out on my scroll saw, Kyle painted it, then Mark installed the wheels. Done. Kyle loved it! This year I was serving in the Stake Primary Presidency, so we hosted all of the wards throughout … [Read more...]
