Top Clean Skincare (that won't break the bank!)

One of my goals a few years ago was to track down better products for my skincare routine. Ones that were natural and wouldn't be toxic over time to my body. But I also wanted them to be at the top of their game as far as effectiveness.

I believe I hit the jackpot, and I'm going to share some of my favorites with you. But first it's important to know why seeking out natural products is important.

If you plug most skin-care products into the Environmental Working Group website (ewg.org), you find that most of them are very toxic. They rate products on a scale of 1 to 10 as far as toxicity .... 10 being super toxic, & 1 being like water (non-toxic). If your particular product isn't listed, you can list the ingredients one by one to get a good idea for how toxic it is.

We can do better.

Top Essential Oils for Skincare

Verage Skin Care System:

My favorite basic natural skincare option is called Verage Skin Care. It's a totally natural system that's also luxurious. It's claim to fame? It protects skin from premature aging, maintains elasticity (fights sagging), & improves skin color, evenness, & tone. I love that it's easy to use, doesn't have a ton of steps, & is more effective than any of the high end products I've tried. Bonus!

It has 4 parts….

  1. Cleanser: Use during morning shower & to remove makeup before bed.

  2. Toner: I do a couple sprays of this on my face after drying off when I get out of the shower, or after using the Cleanser to remove my makeup at night. It restores skin nutrients + evens out the pH of your skin. Don't forget your neck!

  3. Moisturizer: Apply directly after toner. These products all smell DIVINE btw! If you have aging skin, I actually prefer doTERRA's Hydrating Cream instead.

  4. Serum: This contains some of the most precious essential oils for the skin. I use just 1 pump to cover my whole face. It improves fine lines & wrinkles ... but it also is just so nourishing & great to keep healthy skin & that accompanying healthy glow!✨

Immortelle Anti-Aging Blend:

Love, love, LOVE this! Roll on face + massage into age spots, fine lines, & wrinkles daily as needed. This roller bottle of straight essential oils contains some of the most precious oils for skin ... Frankincense, Sandalwood, Lavender, Myrrh, Helichrysum, & Rose!

My secret tip??? ... This bottle doesn't come diluted with a carrier oil at all, so I actually divide it between 2 roller bottles, then top it off with a great carrier oil (I really love Jojoba Oil for this because it mimics the natural oils you have on your face).

MetaPWR Advantage Collagen +NMN

Take one of these a day.

As you age, so does your metabolic function. Your metabolism influences your energy, weight, body composition, & even your cognitive performance. MetaPWR Advantage was developed with doTERRA researchers to help maintain healthy cell & organ function, to keep you mentally energized, & to promote healthy weight & body composition.

MetaPWR Advantage contains NMN & resveratrol, & boosts metabolic health by increasing NADH & NAD+ production in the body & activating the SIRT longevity genes. It also contains nine types of collagen tripeptides from marine sources, which may improve skin elasticity, density, & firmness & support lean muscle & connective tissue.

This ingredient list is so great for many things…including your energy levels!

  • Marine Collagen

  • Liposomal Vitamin C

  • Sea Buckthorn Fruit Extract

  • NMN Enriched Yeast

  • Red Orange Fruit Extract

  • Hyaluronic Acid

  • Grapefruit Essential Oil

  • Lemon Essential Oil

  • Peppermint Essential Oil

  • Ginger Essential Oil

  • Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil

This really is a hero product & just to make sure you understand the significance of having NINE types of marine collagen, here's what those nine types do:

  • Collagen type I is related to skin beauty.

  • Collagen type II is related to bone protection & is the main component of cartilage.

  • Collagen type IV is the main protein of the basement membrane, connecting the dermis & the epidermis & forming a network structure to make the basement membrane malleable.

  • Collagen type V is related to the regular arrangement of collagen fibers, stabilizing the structures of type I & type II collagen.

  • Collagen type VI maintains mechanical function in the cell, supporting both muscle function & cell membrane integrity. Additionally, this collagen type inhibits oxidative damage & apoptosis.

  • Collagen type IX is an important component of cartilage & is mainly distributed in the cartilage cells of growth plates, joints, & intervertebral discs.

  • Collagen type XXV inhibits the fibrillation of amyloid beta peptide. (If you aren't familiar, amyloid beta is what builds up in the brains of people with Alzheimer's)🤯

  • Col1a2 protein is collagen fibrillin.

  • Vacuolar protein sorting 37A is involved in cell growth & differentiation.

This collagen is sourced from sustainably harvested cold-water marine fish & has been hydrolyzed (predigested) by endopeptidases & exopeptidases. These enzymes create small tripeptide fragments of three amino acid sequences for optimal absorption. Other collagens in the market—whether from land animals or marine sources—typically contain tripeptide content of 15–35%. MetaPWR Advantage collagen contains more than 70% tripeptide fragments for superior absorption (in some cases, up to 12 times more absorbable).

So yeah. WAY more than just collagen.

xEO Mega:

This supplement contains your needed fish oils for omega-3s ... AND essential oils (Clove, Frankincense, Thyme, Cumin, Wild Orange, Peppermint, Ginger, Caraway, + German Chamomile). For extra nourishment to your skin, it would be great to double your daily dose of this.

Neroli & Rose:

Ditch artificial fragrance perfumes. They mess with your endocrine system…your hormones. They aren't doing you any favors. When you use an essential oil as your perfume, you'll also get the benefits of that oil, along with a beautiful natural fragrance.

I love wearing Neroli & Rose as my signature perfume ... they smell BEAUTIFUL together.

These are some very precious oils, so to make them more affordable doTERRA sells them in roller bottles. This is wonderful because you don't have to dilute them ... they're already diluted & ready to roll right on your pulse points.

Diluting them helps them not to evaporate into the air so quickly (think about it like "anchoring" them onto your skin). It also helps the oils to absorb more readily so you can enjoy the emotional benefits of these oils through both smell AND having it get into your bloodstream through the skin.
