Praline- Mustard Glazed Ham

From Southern Living Cookbook. The popularity of serving spiral-sliced hams during the holidays can make them hard to find. Shop early, or special order your ham to be sure you get what you want. You can purchase them at supermarkets and at specialty meat stores.

prep: 5 min. cook: 2 hrs., 30 min. other: 10 min.

(7- to 8-pound) bone-in smoked spiral-cut ham half
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup Dijon mustard
1 cup maple syrup
1/3 cup apple juice
Raisin Butter (recipe below)

Place ham in a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch pan.

Stir together brown sugar and mustard; spread over ham. Stir together maple syrup and apple juice, and pour
into pan. Cover with aluminum foil.

Bake at 350° on lower oven rack 2 hours. Remove foil, and bake 30 more minutes, basting every 10 minutes with pan drippings until meat thermometer inserted into thickest portion registers 140°. Let stand 10 minutes. Remove from pan, and serve with Raisin Butter.

Yield: 12 servings.

Raisin Butter
prep: 15 min. cook: 10 min. other: 1 hr., 30 min.
1/2 cup golden raisins
1/4 cup apple juice
1/2 cup butter, softened

Bring raisins and apple juice to a boil in a small saucepan; reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes or until raisins
plump, Cool. Process mixture in blender until finely chopped. Add butter; process until well blended, stopping to scrape down sides. Cover; chill 1 hour. 

Yield: about 1 cup.
