5 essential oil recipes for when you don't feel well
Winter usually comes with the sniffles, coughs, & all kinds of crud that gets our bodies out of whack.
One of the things that got me the most excited when I got my first doTERRA essential oils was being able to have something at home, right when I needed it, if we started to feel under the weather.
I didn't have to run to the store.
I didn't have to have my husband call in a prescription.
Occasionally prescriptions are still necessary. But we rarely need them anymore. And we don't have to wait for things to get bad before we do something about it.
We know we can grab something out of our natural first aid kit (a.k.a. my essential oil drawer in our kitchen) at the first hint of that headache, cough, runny nose, sore throat, or whatever it may be.
That gets me excited.
While it's actually good for our immune system to get a cold every now-and-then, it's never fun & we do our best to prevent it.
I've got some easy essential oil recipes you can use to alleviate the aches + pains while your body fights off whatever is currently going around…or my favorite - stop it in its tracks before it even gets going.

Top 5 oil tips to Kick The Crud
Feel better warm bath:
2 drops of Thyme
2 drops of Tea Tree
1 drop of Eucalyptus
3 drops of Geranium
3 drops of Cardamom
1 tablespoon of Fractionated Coconut Oil
Mix all of the oils in a small bowl & add to a warm bath. You can also add 1 cup of Epsom salts for some added relaxation.
Steam inhalation for sinus, throat + head relief:
Bring 2 cups of water to boil. Meanwhile, place the following in a large glass bowl:
Pour the hot water over the oils in the bowl, put a towel over your head, close your eyes, & breath in the steam for 5 minutes.
Extra immune support to help you get back on your feet:
1 drop of Frankincense
1 drop of Tea Tree
1 drop of OnGuard
1 drop of Oregano
1 drop of Lemon
Dilute with a little fractionated coconut oil, & rub this blend on the bottoms of your feet 2x a day until you're feeling better.
Congestion relief chest + back blend:
1 drop of Lemon
2 drops of Eucalyptus
2 drops of Rosemary
1 tablespoon of Fractionated Coconut Oil
Combine all of the oils together & massage into the chest + back.
Sore throat blend:
If you've got a sore throat, dilute the following in a teaspoon of fractionated coconut oil, & rub over the throat:
1 drop of OnGuard
1 drop of Ginger
1 drop of Frankincense
If you're comfortable with using these oils internally, then place 1 drop of each oil on the tongue & follow with a swallow of water.
Please Note: It will be spicy for about 20 seconds, but it will help your throat feel better! Therefore, this isn't recommended for kids! I actually used this blend when traveling awhile back, & it was a life saver! :)
