Caramel Sauce

Another McOmber family staple from my sis-in-law, Jen. I attribute a lot of my love for cooking…to her. I loved showing up at her home and having lots of yummy, unique, good food. And her kids ALWAYS ate it. They learned to try anything and everything their mom made, and she was always making new foods. I got that from her. My kids are pretty open to trying just about anything due to this mentality. There are successes and there are failures as far as recipes, but we’ve found a lot of keepers due to just always trying new things!

2 c. light brown sugar
1 c. corn syrup
1/2 c. butter
1 large can evaporated milk

Bring first 3 ingredients to soft ball stage. Cool for 5 minutes. Add the chilled evaporated milk.
