Diane’s Soft Gooey Caramel Corn

Untitled design.png

This is my mom’s gooey goodness. I was never a fan of the hard “popcorn balls”. I want the gooey, stick to your teeth caramel…and that’s what this is.

1 c. sweetened condensed milk
1/2 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. corn syrup
3 gallons popped popcorn

Mix butter, sugar, and corn syrup and bring to a boil. Add sweetened condensed milk and cook to soft ball stage (228 degrees). I actually stop short of that temperature by about 5 degrees so my popcorn will be chewy/gooey, not hard. Pour caramel mixture over popcorn and stir to combine.
