Staying healthy as we age can get a little complicated. As our metabolism slows, what worked previously may not work as well.
I want to give you several options today that have been huge in helping me get back to a weight that allowed me to fit in the clothes I already had in my closet…because that was getting harder to do as I approach 50 years old.
First of all I want to encourage you to look into a way of eating I discovered this last year called “carb cycling”. I knew I would never stick to any sort of way of eating that completely cut food groups out of my diet. I don't want gimmicks either. Eating more vegetables, lowering sugar intake, & getting more water are absolutely going to always be part of healthy eating, so that's a given.
Carb cycling involves eating the same amount of calories each day, but changing your amount of carbs so that you vary between low, medium, & high carb days. This helps to reset your metabolism. Basically, you don't cut things from your diet. You just eat them on days that fit in either your low, medium, or high carb days.
I don't have a code or anything for you, & I get absolutely nothing for sharing this with you, but this has worked so well for me & I want you to know about it. I lost 20 pounds in the last 7 months & am back to what I weighed in high school. If you have more weight to lose, your results may be even quicker than mine. I used a program online called Vshred. There's no subscription involved. I basically paid around $50 to get the workout videos (they're all online so you can do them anywhere - no equipment involved). I love that they only take about 25 minutes, 4 days a week. It's fast & anyone can do them. It's something you can keep doing the rest of your life. There's a quiz to help you know which workout plan will fit your weight loss goals best. Then you can also choose to have a one-month meal plan done for you by people with Masters degrees in health sciences…actual experts in the field…tailored to the foods you like to eat. They'll customize it. That was about another $50. After that I knew what I was shooting for & could do my own meals within those parameters.
Once you're through their meal plans & want to change up the meals, it's nice to know nutrition info for different meals. Personally I loved using the cookbooks from Lillie Eats and Tells & also Clean Simple Eats. They're not associated with Vshred. I just really like their cookbooks & could pick meals that fit the parameters Vshred told me I needed for my low, medium, & high carb days. They're also fast to prepare with easy to find fresh ingredients. Again, no subscription involved. They both have blogs & Instagram accounts where you can try out some of their recipes before deciding if you want their cookbooks.
The next piece that helped me was the MetaPWR line from doTERRA. The rest of this email will focus on that piece of the puzzle.
