These make ideal holiday cookies when festively decorated with icing, but they are also delicious without any adornment. The perfect gingerbread men cookies…from Martha Stewart’s Baking Handbook.
I’ve always relied on Martha Stewart to teach me the best way to make anything…if I want it to also taste amazing! You’ll never go back to using the ready-made sugar cookie mix from the store, when you can make the best sugar cookies so simply.
This cake makes for a lovely presentation, but is also simple & absolutely delicious! We like making this as a dessert for Christmas dinner, but it would also be great for Valentine’s Day, or any day!
My dad has perfected his clam chowder recipe over the years. I have never tasted any that could top his. Give it a try - IT’S SERIOUSLY THE BEST! He uses it for their traditional Christmas Eve dinner, along with yummy rolls for dipping!
From Southern Living Cookbook. You have all the sugar from the brown sugar, maple syrup, and apple juice…then the tang of the dijon mustard…along with the saltiness of the ham. Ummm…yum! Ham is typically to salty for me, and these flavors really balance everything out. Plus I’m a sucker for salty and sweet together (anyone else remember dipping french fries in Wendy’s frosties?).
My whole family LOVES this dish. We were very skeptical when we first decided to make it, because none of us really love cabbage, but even the kids ask for this one! Also, try doubling the sauce so you have extra to dip hot rolls into. It is so good! This has become a non-negotiable at our Christmas dinner.
A quick-to-make balsamic syrup enhances these roasted green beans. The balsamic syrup's also good drizzled over pork roast or even sliced fresh strawberries. From CHRISTMAS WITH SOUTHERN LIVING 2006.
From Barefoot Contessa Parties. This is so good, so easy, and a McOmber family staple for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter! Use leftovers to make ham and chutney sandwiches.
From Ina Garten's 'The Barefoot Contessa Cookbook'. If traditional hot chocolate is so delicious and comforting, I thought, why not white hot chocolate? Nothing could be easier, and it is very satisfying on a cold winter day.
From Ina Garten's 'The Barefoot Contessa Cookbook'. Who doesn't love hot chocolate on a cold winter day? This hot chocolate has wonderful depth of flavor from two kinds of chocolate, and pure vanilla. I sometimes even serve it for dessert with whipped cream, but it's good anytime, especially for a weekend breakfast.
This is wonderful served with your Thanksgiving or Christmas turkey (or even over chicken or pork at any other time of year). You could eat it with a spoon it's so good - just the right amount of tart & sweet!
Our family loves to have this dish at Thanksgiving! The bonus? It's a super-easy side dish that doesn't require oven space and stays warm in the crock pot until ready to serve. It's almost like a dessert! Super yummy!!
My kids say they like them even more than the Cinnabon classic. You know how the best part of a cinnamon roll is typically the gooey center? These are like that all the way through, with a yummy cream cheese frosting melted into the rolls. Our family tradition is to make these for Christmas morning, and also twice a year for our church’s semi-annual General Conference.
