Pesto is probably my favorite sauce. What’s not to love? The fresh basil (which we always have TONS of during the summer)…combined with the pine nuts and the bite of garlic…when I smell this I am SO HAPPY. I hope it makes you happy too. :)
This is wonderful served with your Thanksgiving or Christmas turkey (or even over chicken or pork at any other time of year). You could eat it with a spoon it's so good - just the right amount of tart & sweet!

There should be a culinary law that every freezer have at least one quart of this basic tomato sauce ready to defrost and turn into dinner. This recipe makes two quarts, but if you have a big enough pot and freezer, go ahead and double or even triple the recipe. You won't regret it.
